Paper Submission and Publications

2nd IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT 2015) solicits two types of submissions.

Full papers describing original research. Suggested size is four pages; papers up to six pages will be accepted. Papers will be fully peer reviewed and, if accepted, included in conference proceedings and will be submitted to the Xplore Digital Library. Extended versions of selected papers may be considered for publication in IEEE IoT Journal.

Extended abstracts describing emerging results of new research areas or relevant topics from an industrial point of view, not to exceed two pages.

Submission Guidelines 

  • All papers must conform, at time of submission, to the IEEE Formatting Guidelines. Please use either this Word Template or this LaTeX package. Make sure that you use US letter page format.
  • IEEE takes the protection of intellectual property seriously. Accordingly, all submissions will be screened for plagiarism using CrossCheck. By submitting your work you agree to allow IEEE to screen your work. For more information please visit: http://www.crossref.org/crosscheck/index.html

IMPORTANT: Submission implies willingness to register at the conference, pay the registration fee and present the paper in person. Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author will register and pay the registration fee by 31st October 2015 (IEEE member and non-member fees only are acceptable to this purpose; student/life-member fees are not allowed) - no exceptions. Papers included in the proceedings will also be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore digital library only if the paper will be presented in person at the conference by one of the authors. If an author covers more than one paper with her/his registration to guarantee inclusion in the proceedings, she/he must pay a US$100 surcharge for each paper in excess of one.

Tutorial and Special Session Submissions

Tutorial proposals should contain an abstract, scope, intended audience, objectives, prior history, an outline, the biographical sketch of presenters and any other information that may assist in making decisions. The proposal must be in the form of a single PDF file not exceed four pages. Special Sessions should complement the regular program with new and emerging topics of interest.

Latest IoT Breaking News Update Paper submissions

This option is offered for sharing to the wide audience of the WF-IoT 2015 the recent discoveries and results that were not available or mature enough to be presented by the full paper deadline. For topics and interesting fields intended authors can refers to the general themes and topics described in the WF-IoT 2015 call for papers.
Authors can submit papers (from 4 to 6 pages long) on the latest news on their IoT expertise field. 
These papers will be fully peer-reviewed and accepted or rejects as-is. No revisions or modifications are possible. The accepted papers will be included preferably on special sessions pertinent to the subject matter whenever possible or in general sessions if they do not fit specifically. These papers will be published in the conference Proceedings and in IEEE Xplore.

Call for industry forum panel sessions

The 2015 IEEE 2nd World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT) will be hosting Industry Forum Panel Sessions covering different topics as listed below, and invites the submission in these categories:

IoT and Smart Cities

IoT and Energy

IoT and Healthcare

IoT and Manufacturing

IoT and Business models

IoT and 5G

ISP and IoT deployment

IoT and Big Data

IoT and Cloud Computing

IoT Standardization

Each Industry Forum Panel session will have 90 minutes, and it will have up to four panelists. Each of the panelists will have 10 minutes presentation to introduce panelist's experiences, implementations, and/or on-going project in the specific category. And it will have discussions and Q&A will be following. It will take place on Monday-Wednesday of the conference (Dec. 14-16, 2015).

Industry Panel Proposal Format

Each panel proposal (maximum 5 pages) must include:

1. 

Title of the panel

2. 

Names, addresses, and a short biography (up to 200 words) of the organizers

3. 

A brief description (1 page max) of the technical issues that the panel will address, emphasizing its timeliness

4. 

Planned format of the panel, such as planned presenters, topics, etc.

5. 

If appropriate, a description of past versions of the panel, including number of presentations, number of attendees, etc.

Panel presentation material will not be published in conference proceedings but will be available in the conference web site.
