Cragganowen.  Explore the roots of the people, homesteads, animals and artifacts of the Celtic ancestors of over 1,000 years ago.  These lake dwellings (built on Crannog – meaning ‘young tree’) from the late Bronze Age were built on artificially constructed islands, which were made of stone, tree trunks and brushwood.  On these islands, the houses were then constructed, and were thatched dwellings of wattles and mud, protected by a timber fence.  The Brendan Boat (a copy of the boat that St Brendan made his journey from Ireland to America in, around 530AD) can also be seen at this attraction. Cost:€55.00 per person
